Puzzleroo

Cookie policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Puzzleroo also uses your browser’s “local storage”, which works in a similar way. At the moment we use only what the site needs in order to work. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

What we use now

NameTypeWhat it doesHow long
sb-…-auth-tokenCookie, strictly necessaryKeeps you signed in, as a guest or with your account, so your games and streaks are savedUp to 400 days, renewed as you play
ps.v1.play.… and ps.v1.draft.…Local storage, strictly necessaryYour progress in today’s puzzles, so a refresh does not lose itUntil you clear your browser data
ps.v1.theme, ps.v1.unitsLocal storage, strictly necessaryYour choice of light, dark or high-contrast theme, and miles or kilometresUntil you clear your browser data
ps.v1.mergeTicketLocal storage, strictly necessarySet briefly when you sign in to an existing account, so games played as a guest can be added to itRemoved as soon as you are signed in

These are needed for the site to do what you ask of it, so the law does not require us to ask permission for them. If you block them, the games will not be able to save your progress.

The “are you a robot” check

When you first choose a display name or create an account, a short check from Cloudflare (called Turnstile) confirms you are a person. It runs only on those two occasions. It looks at technical signals from your browser and does not use them for advertising.

Advertising cookies: not yet

Puzzleroo will be funded by advertising from Google AdSense. Before any advert appears, a consent banner will ask for your choice, and no advertising or measurement cookie will be set until you have made it. You will be able to change your mind at any time with the “Manage cookies” link at the foot of every page. This page will be updated with the full list of partners when that happens.

Controlling cookies yourself

Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies and site data, usually under Settings and then Privacy. Deleting Puzzleroo’s data signs you out; if you were playing as a guest without an account, your streaks and scores cannot be recovered afterwards.

More about how we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.
